VIDEO: Colombian group Monsieur Periné released their third album “ENCANTO TROPICAL”

Monsieur Periné has just released their third album “Encanto Tropical”  and it makes you want to live in the tropics.

The colombian group lead by Catalina García, Santiago Prieto & Nicolás Junca fuses jazz, pop and swing with latin rhythms.

So first, let me give you some cool facts to get to know them better:

-The band started playing a small repertory of boleros and bossa nova tunes at weddings and parties.

-They have three albums: Hecho A Mano (Handmade, 2012), Caja de Música (Music Box, 2015) & Encanto Tropical (Tropical Delight, 2018).

-Won the 2015 Latin GRAMMY for Best New Artist and received a 2016 GRAMMY nomination for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album.

Encanto tropical is produced by the 2017 Latin GRAMMY winning “Producer of the Year” Eduardo “Visitante” Cabra, formerly of the group Calle 13.

Ok, now let’s continue.

Encanto Tropical culminates the evolution of Monsieur Periné’s sound from acoustic Gypsy- Jazz to hybrid electronica Latin groove pop.

“This is a record that’s very immersed in the tropics and its contrasts,” said Catalina García, the band’s lead singer. “It’s a record that has a strong presence of those cultures that have been the roots for us: Africa, indigenous America, and of course Europe. It’s our way of looking inward and discovering our tropics.”

“Bailar Contigo” the first single of the album, is out now!

And you can hear them singing it in our interview with reporter María Fernanda Viera.
