Hosting an award show is not an easy task and few get it right, but Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have proved to dominate as award show hosts.

Tonight, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler return to co-host the 72nd Golden Globe Awards for the third and final year. These SNL veterans and queens of improv, bring more than just laughs to the table. They make viewers feel as if they’re in their living rooms hanging out with two witty best friends.

Two years ago at the 70th Golden Globe Awards, the comedy-duo delivered positive, lighthearted puns at the expense of some of Hollywood’s A-list celebrities, as opposed to Ricky Gervais’ attempt at hosting the previous Golden Globes.

Those were some awkward moments that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler continue to laugh about. Last year, the two seemed more relaxed and comfortable with the gig.

Having worked together since the start of their careers and being friends off-screen must have helped Tina Fey and Amy Poehler incorporate more of their own personalities to hosting the Globes as well as to involve the audience in their bits.

This year, we are expecting a no-holds-barred routine, especially with all that has happened in the media from the Cosby scandal to the Sony hacking, we can expect that everything is fair game in Fey and Poehler’s book.

These divas of the comedy world know that Hollywood loves to laugh at itself and do a great job bantering and entertaining the crowd regardless of what or who is at the other end of the joke.
