Disney Channel launches new series “Stuck In The Middle”

A brand new family has found a home on the Disney Channel and so has a very special middle child.

The network’s latest T.V. series “Stuck in the Middle”, which premieres Friday March, 11th features the Diaz family: Harley, parents, Tom and Suzy, and Harley’s five siblings, and stars actress Jenna Ortega.

The Diaz clan includes, Rachel the self-involved eldest; Georgie, a basketball-playing teen; Ethan, Harley’s closest ally; invincible and indestructible twins Lewie and “Beast;” the strong-willed youngest sibling, Daphne and of course, Harley, who is as the show’s title indicates “stuck in the middle”.

“Stuck in the Middle” is narrated from Harley’s point-of-view.

The teen details slice-of life stories which find comedy in the everyday life of a big family. Harley (Jenna Ortega) is the middle child who devises creative ways to cope with — and stand out — in her family’s busy suburban Massachusetts household.

13-year-old actress Jenna Ortega, who plays Harley, the middle kid of seven, might seem like a familiar face to you, if it does it’s because you might remember seeing her as little Jane in Golden Globe-winning series Jane The Virgin.

In addition to Ortega, the series stars: Isaak Presley, Ronni Hawk, Kayla Maisonet, Nicolas Bechtel, Malachi Barton, Ariana Greenblatt, Cerina Vincent, and Joe Nieves.

Of Harley’s personality on the show, Jenna Ortega said: “She’s funky, smart, determined and creative and she loves inventing, that’s what she does.”

The “Stuck in the Middle” star also took a moment to compare her real-life family to her on-screen family and says the two share many similarities.

“My on-screen family is similar to my family at home because every single one of the Diaz kids reminds me of my own family,” said Ortega. “They all have a perfect match and I feel like if they met up they would be best friends.”

“Stuck in the Middle” begins tonight at 9:00p.m. on Disney Channel. To see images of the show on social media search the hashtag #StuckInTheMiddle
