‘Every producer in Hollywood conspires to shoot in Miami’ says Ice Cube
In the film “Ride Along 2”, Ice Cube and Kevin Hart play law enforcement officers sent to Miami to help bring down a drug ring. While some parts of the film were shot in Atlanta, the rest were filmed in Miami using key locations such as South Beach and the Port of Miami.
Late last week, the City of Miami and the Official Miami Walk of Fame in the Bayside Marketplace honored the cast of “Ride Along 2” with a star designed by Brazilian Neo-pop artist Romero Britto.
Tika Sumpter, Olivia Munn, Benjamin Bratt, Ken Jeong, Kevin Hart and Ice Cube attended the induction ceremony at Bayside Market Place along with director Tim Story and producer Will Packer. Lead cast members were presented with stars donning their names on the Walk of Fame. However, a third star was dedicated to the entire cast of Ride Along 2.
The City of Miami Police Chief Rodolfo “Rudy” Llanes and Mayor Tomas Regalado presented Ice Cube and Kevin Hart with personalized plaques, as they are now honorary policemen.
“Every producer in Hollywood conspires to shoot in Miami,” said Ice Cube in his acceptance speech. “Even if it’s a Western they ask ‘Yo, can we shoot this in Miami?’
The 57-year-old actor added: “The location adds a lot of value to the movie and makes you want to be there.”

Story and Packer presented the Miami Police Athletic League (Miami PAL), a non-profit which provides aid to inner-city kids in after school programs, with a check of $5,000.
The money will benefit the nearly 600 kids who are part of the program.
