Make-up artist Roberto Ramos, Chiquinquira Delgado host CoverFX Masterclass

Roberto Ramos is a celebrity make up artist who works with t.v. host Chiquinquira Delgado.

Just a month after debuting her clothing line on the Home Shopping Network’s “The List”, “Nuestra Belleza Latina 2016” host Chiquinquira Delgado can now add another business venture to her resume.

The Venezuelan television host recently partnered with longtime friend and personal make-up artist, Roberto Ramos, and make-up line Cover FX to host the first of its kind, make-up masterclass in Miami.

Chiquinquira, who is 43, addressed a room of about 100 in Coral Gables’ La Jolla Ballroom, sharing jokes, behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and most importantly, her best make-up routine tips and tricks.

Ramos, who is a seasoned beauty industry professional and has been a celebrity make-up artist for more than two decades and has worked with a variety of Hispanic beauty pageant queens, performed a live tutorial on the Univision network personality.

Ramos and Chiquinquira met in Venezuela and have been working together for many years, as of late in Miami. However, their partnership with vegan and cruelty-free make-up line Cover FX was born six months ago.

“As a make-up artist I’m used to working with a variety of products and I’m not married to any specific brand because I like to use whatever I like and whatever I think works best,” said Ramos, while applying a Cover FX anti-age smoothing eye primer on Chiquinquira’s freshly-washed face.

“I’m rarely without make-up but I took it all off for you guys,” joked the bright-eyed 5’7” star, who is also a model and actress and the current girlfriend of well-known Spanish-language journalist, Jorge Ramos.

During his tutorial of a vibrant nighttime look, Ramos, who added that since working with Cover FX products he really enjoys using them and thinks they’re very effective, also used make-up products from brands Urban Decay, L’Oreal Paris, MAC Cosmetics, Kat Von D Beauty, Lancome, and Anastasia Beverly Hills. He used brushes from lines Cover FX and Morphe Brushes.

From the onset, Masterclass attendees were told to turn off their cellphones and that they were not allowed to text, record, or share images on social media while the class was in session, but they were encouraged to participate by asking questions and clearing up any make-up related doubts.

The audience, made up mostly of make-up artists, cosmetologists, make-up and beauty bloggers and other make-up enthusiasts, steadily interacted with Ramos and Chiquinquira from start to finish for the duration of the four-hour make-up masterclass, sharing their own anecdotes and personal make-up trial and error stories.

“Yes, make-up is all about trial and error,” said Chiquinquira.

“And I think all of us, women, more or less go through the same thing. For instance, I have an eyebrow that is not as well-shaped as the other and has spots that are not as filled in but I can’t just wait around for it to grow and even itself out so I turn to make-up and brow liners to fix it.”

Ramos discussed several ways of applying eye make-up, the right way to contour the face, and the perfect spot to apply blush.

“Like with everything in life, there are many different techniques, but I’m showing you the ones which have worked the best for me,” he said. “And remember, it’s all about practice. If you sit here and listen to every word I’m saying but you don’t go back home and apply these techniques or incorporate them into your routine, nothing is going to change.”

Roberto Ramos, Chiquinquira Delgado's make up artist, set up a beautiful make-up table.

Chiquinquira laughed and agreed:

“I can apply my mascara in the dark now, I don’t need light or a mirror, that’s all practice.”

General admission for the masterclass was $100, a VIP admission was $200. All attendees received a masterclass certificate of completion and a make-up filled goody bag including an assortment of products used during the live tutorial.

A masterclass tour including more make-up lessons featuring Ramos and Chiquinquira is currently in the works and will most likely make stops in cities like Los Angeles, New York and Houston.

The next masterclass is scheduled for June 5th in Houston, Texas. For more information on Chiquinquira Delgado, Roberto Ramos, or the masterclass please visit www.ChiquiDelgado.com or www.CoverFX.com.
