Bachata singer JTorres on Latin Billboards 2016 and ‘Sufriras’
JTorres, an up and coming Bachata singer, who lives in Milwaukee, caught up with Press Pass Latino at the 2016 Latin Billboard Conference where he spoke to us about his first time attending the conference and awards show, his latest single Sufriras and which artists he looked forward to seeing the most.
The bachatero, who was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has amassed a loyal following on Instagram @jtorresmusica and now has over 11,000 followers. Despite, singing since he was 16 years old, this year marked the first time JTorres attended the Latin Billboards Conference, an experience he said was “unbelievable”.
“I can’t believe I’m here,” said JTorres.
“I’ve always seen this on T.V. and to be here and see the behind-the-scenes is an experience where you’d have to be here to understand.”
Of all the artists attending the 2016 Latin Billboards, JTorress admitted he was most excited to see Nicky Jam, Daddy Yankee and Don Omar, who he admires and whose music he considers a great source of inspiration.
The Sufriras singer also said his music style is reminiscent of Romeo Santos’ and confessed that his new single was inspired by a real-life experience, a time he was broken-hearted.
And let’s be honest, what good love song wasn’t?
“It’s about a lady who tells her husband ‘I don’t love you anymore’ and he’s frustrated and so mad and then he’s ‘Like you know what, tell that guy that JT said ‘I wish you the worst in life’,” said JTorres.
