So ESPN recently sent out Seattle Sounders Forward, Clint Dempsey, to ask random people on the street what they thought about the U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) and more specifically how the USMNT Captain did during the World Cup.

For those of you who don’t know, Clint Dempsey is the Captain for the USMNT; and while the people he interviewed were all too quick to offer their opinion on the USMNT’s performance for the World Cup, no one recognized him!! Why do people pretend they know everything? Check out this hilarious video.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup ranked as the most-viewed World Cup ever on English- language TV in the United States. Clint Dempsey has a lot to do with the success of the USMNT in Brazil.

The U.S. captain got his team off to a fast start in the opening match for the U.S. (against Ghana) when he scored 29 seconds into the game for the fifth fastest goal in World Cup history!

This past World Cup was the first time that the U.S. advanced to the knockout stage in two straight World Cups. Dempsey was a integral part of their World Cup success, becoming the first American to score in three straight World Cup tournaments.
