Everyone’s favorite “Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy” Maluma, got social with a crowd of reporters, artists, and fans at the 2017 Latin BillBoard Music Conference. He gave us the inside scoop and shared some important #lifegoals:
1. You must “Keep it Real” on the Gram
Maluma always “keeps it real” on Instagram and loves sharing bits and pieces of his personal life. (And based on what we’ve seen, he seems to enjoy keeping his shirt off too! 😉 but hey, we’re not hating!) The Colombian heartthrob, who has a whopping 24.6 million followers (as of today) on Instagram, confessed that his first social media account was-drum roll please, Twitter. He eventually ended up with a Youtube account and the rest is history.
2. Family first because Maluma means Family
Ever wondered what “Maluma” means? Because inquiring minds want to know, we asked Maluma and here’s what he told us: The origin of his name comes from the first two letters of three of his family member’s names: His mom Marlli, his dad, Luis and his sister, Manuela. Ma. Lu. Ma. Aw, so sweet!
3. Be a walking work of art
When we look at Maluma, we see a work of art. And I’m not talking about his body-that’s a whole other post-I’m talking about his newest tattoo. The 23 year-old singer, who is no stranger to ink, showed off his newest addition on his arm. The tattoo is of four elephants, each representing a family member; Mom, Dad, Sister and him.
4. Be a Charitable Cutie
As if we needed another reason to love Maluma, heres one more. Maluma recently started his own foundation six months ago called “ El Arte De Los Sueños”. It helps kids in art programs who have lost hope or just don’t have the opportunities, to chase their artistic dreams. For more information on the foundation, follow @elartedelossuenos
5. Break Borders
Maluma said he wants to crossover and make music in Spanglish or music that’s ‘WorldWide.’ But he still wants to maintain his distinct latin rhythm. Fingers crossed that we’ll get a collab between Maluma and Bieber, after Luis Fonsi and Daddy’s Yankee hit remix of Despacito featuring Just Beiber, anything is possible. Just Remember, Press Pass Latino called it!
